What is Endoscopy?
During GI endoscopy your doctor will pass a thin tube into your colon or
esophagus. This tube is equipped with a special lens to examine the
tissue of the passage and if needed collect small specimens of the
tissue for closer examination in the laboratory.
Preparing for your
procedure
When your doctor orders GI endoscopy you will be asked to prepare in
advance by following specific directions which will be given to you when
your procedure is scheduled.

On Procedure Day
· You
will need a ride.
· Arrive
30 minutes before your scheduled procedure time.
· The
procedure is performed with conscious sedation which some have called
“twilight sleep”.
· Park
near the covered entrance on the Stop & Shop side of the building.
· Let
us know when you arrive.
